Rivers of light, a journey through the night skies

Rivers of Light is a 23‑minute, slow‑paced journey through the night sky, told entirely through real timelapse and raw camera footage. From the Milky Way rising over Gull Rock to craters on the Moon, it drifts through meteors, comets, aurora, star trails, and even a full solar eclipse. Every scene is captured directly from the camera—no overlays, no narration, no CGI—letting the sky move at its own natural rhythm. If you enjoy immersive astronomy or simply watching the universe unfold, this film invites you to settle in, unwind, and let the night carry you.

Jeremy Likness, astrophotographer

Jeremy Likness is an astrophotographer and filmmaker whose work centers on the elusive glow of the night sky: light that has traveled across the vast expanses of space before reaching Earth. Through long exposure, accumulation, and careful calibration, his images reveal nebulae and star fields as places of motion, formation, and silence. He also focuses on how the night transforms familiar landmarks when they are proximal to the Milky Way, touched by cometary visitors or illuminated by the glow of aurora. His vision is to use the images he captures and the stories behind them to make the glory of God's creation accessible to everyone.
