Tidal Consequence captures the Whirlpool Galaxy and its companion as a study in interaction rather than isolation. The familiar spiral form is shaped not only by rotation, but by proximity: gravity pulling, distorting, and igniting regions of star formation as the two systems pass through one another’s influence.

Rather than presenting the galaxy as a static object, the image emphasizes motion and cause. Blue spiral arms trace ongoing star birth, while warmer regions mark areas compressed and energized by tidal forces. The smaller companion, suspended nearby, is not a secondary subject but an active participant in the scene.

This work invites the viewer to consider galaxies not as distant ornaments, but as dynamic systems: changed by encounter, shaped by time, and defined as much by relationship as by form.

At 30" x 30", Tidal Consequence commands both attention and conversation, whether admired for its overall structure from afar, or for the texture and detail of its spiral arms and pinpoint stars up close. Printed on high definition and archive quality ChromaLuxe® aluminum, it is both heat and water resistant and lightweight for its size. The colors are stunning and vibrant.

There will only be 5 total prints done, and all at this size to match its debut in the Oregon Coast after Dark exhibition at the Lincoln City Cultural Center. Each print will be signed, numbered, and accompanied with a certificate of authenticity.
