This is a very special picture as it captures the "first light" of me shooting from a new dark sky site I own in the high desert. Called Sky Fire Ridge Observatory, it is located 4800 feet above the Prineville Reservoir, a designated International Dark Sky Park. The incredibly dark skies enabled me to capture this view of the galactic core as the Milky Way settles, with the richly colored, dusty Rho Ophiuchi complex to the right and dazzling stars above.
